Shira Simon, MM, MT-BC, is a Board-Certified Music Therapist. Shira received her Bachelor’s Equivalency and Master of Music in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University and completed her Music Therapy Internship at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Illinois. Shira has an extensive background as a musician and completed a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Denver.

Shira has clinical experience in diverse settings and populations, including patients/families in hospice with terminal diagnoses and at end-of-life, children and adolescents with autism, medical, mental health, and developmental disorders, and adults with psychiatric diagnoses with significant grief and trauma.

Shira is deeply committed to facilitating music experiences through a person-centered and trauma-informed lens to foster relationships and creativity and to improve the overall well-being of the “whole” person for each individual.
