NICOLE FREDERICK, MA, MT-BC

Nicole Frederick, MA, MT-BC, is a Board-Certified Music Therapist. She received her B.A. in Music Education from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. Her experience in teaching music led to the pursuit of a Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Music Therapy at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She is currently in the process of pursuing LPC licensure in the state of Illinois.


Nicole specializes in all things strings, starting with the violin. Additionally Nicole loves to sing and utilizes voice work in her therapy practice. She has provided services in various settings including inpatient, residential, and school based services. These settings provided opportunities to work with young people and their families to use the therapeutic process for growth and change in relationship to self and others. Nicole has most recently primarily worked with clients with a variety of mental illnesses, including major depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse disorders, bipolar disorder, and early onset personality disorders.

Additionally, she has experience with young people who are diagnosed with social pragmatic and sensory processing disorders, cognitive impairments and developmental delays, and severe and profound physical disabilities. Outside of her music therapy work, Nicole is passionate about the great outdoors and other creative outlets like visual art and D.I.Y. projects.


Nicole believes that music is key to the human experience and provides a unique outlet for self-exploration, self-expression, and connection to others.
