MADELEINE PUSCHAUTZ

Board-Certified Music Therapist #14664

Madeleine Puschautz, MT-BC, is a Board-Certified Music Therapist in Chicago. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Illinois State University (ISU). While attending ISU, she also served as the Choir Director for the local church on campus and on the Board of Directors for Crescendo, ISU’s Music Therapy Registered Student Organization. Madeleine is primarily a vocalist, and is also proficient on guitar, piano, ukulele, mandolin, and percussion.


Madeleine completed her Music Therapy internship at The STAR Center in Jackson, Tennessee. At The STAR Center, she worked with a wide variety of clientele including pre-school and school-aged children and adolescents at an addiction recovery treatment facility. Previously, Madeleine served as a Board-Certified Music Therapist on an interdisciplinary team at Meaningful Day Services in Indianapolis, Indiana. At Meaningful Day Services, she provided weekly home-based and TeleHealth music therapy sessions for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 2-63. Throughout her clinical experiences, Madeleine has worked on goals addressing widespread needs utilizing various modes of therapeutic implementation within a cognitive behavioral philosophy of music therapy. She is passionate about using current research, diverse music, and the needs and preferences of each individual client to implement uniquely tailored music therapy sessions.


Madeleine grew up in the Logan Square/Bucktown neighborhood in Chicago. Outside of work, Madeleine enjoys writing, recording, and performing music with her Indianapolis-centered band (Bunkbeds), reading neurological case studies, running, and volunteering at various organizations in the Chicago area.
