Julliana Castaneda, MT-BC is a Board-Certified Music Therapist born and raised in the Chicagoland area. Julliana received her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Julliana is primarily a hornist, and is also proficient in guitar, piano, ukulele, and voice.
Julliana completed her internship at The Institute for Therapy Through the Arts (ITA) in Evanston, IL. While interning at ITA, she facilitated in-person and telehealth sessions with a diverse range of individuals including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral Health, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, and others. Additionally, Julliana served as a Board-Certified Music Therapist at Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital in New Lenox, IL. At Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital, she facilitated group sessions for inpatient units including: Geriatric, Adolescent, Adult Women and Adult Men units.
Julliana holds the belief that music has the power to connect persons and connect with the whole person. She believes in using music to empower and encourage individuals to be their most authentic selves, in and out of the therapy setting.
Outside of music therapy, Laura is passionate about investing in her community and the next generation, and also serves in her local church’s worship team and children’s ministry.
