EBONY JOHNSON

Music Therapist

Ebony F. Johnson is a Music Therapist who has refined her skills through years of practice, extensive study and live performance. Ebony pursued a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies, with a concentration in vocal performance at Florida Memorial University, where she played alto saxophone and clarinet in the jazz and marching bands. Ebony continued her journey in academia to obtain a master’s degree in Music Therapy at The University of Jyväskylä in Jyväskylä, Finland.


Throughout the years, Ebony spent time traveling, facilitating music therapy experiences and performing in various countries including Iceland, The Bahamas, Finland, China, Greece, Italy and The United States of America. She is extremely passionate about using music to help others around the world, despite cultural borders. Ebony has used music therapy to bring about wellness and ongoing coping techniques to clients with therapeutic goals from emotional stability, developmental progression, addiction/ dependency management, chronic  
fibromyalgia regulation, etc.  Ebony’s primary instrument is vocal, while she is  proficient in piano, percussion and saxophone.

As a music therapist, she has been able to work with various medical populations/clients from various countries, which lends to her vast knowledge of interculturalism in Music Therapy. Ebony hopes to continue to share the benefits of music therapy and its interventions, with those around the world!
