Jessica Kligman, MT-BC
Board-Certified Music Therapist #18611
Jessica Kligman, MT-BC, is a San Fernando Valley native. She received a certificate in music therapy from the Music Therapy Equivalency Distance Program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, IN, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in music from California State University, Northridge. She holds a teaching certificate in General Music K-12 in both California and New Jersey States, and taught music in the classroom in both states for a cumulative 20 years. Concurrently, Jessica was a registered teacher of Music Together®, an evidence-based music and movement program for newborns through age four and their grown-ups. Nearly half of Jessica’s teaching experience was working with neurodiverse students and students with multiple disabilities, and out of this grew the desire to become a music therapist. Jessica sings and plays piano, guitar, world drums, recorder, and lap dulcimer. She also performs in non-profit community theater. One of Jessica’s greatest joys is helping people discover that they can actually make music after all! She presumes competence in her clients; she meets them where they are, develops rapport, and identifies and builds on their strengths and play skills to work toward achieving therapeutic goals.
